Four red cards in the second weekend of the season, including one each for Sevilla’s physical trainer Alonso and Levante assistant coach Cañada for protesting and insulting the officials respectively. Alonso has been banned for two matches and Cañada four. Rayo’s Toño was the first player to be sent off this weekend, the veteran keeper giving away a penalty on Celta’s Wass with less than ten minutes gone, and Valencia’s Barragán was red carded for a second bookable offence late on in the game against Deportivo. Curiously Celta (currently joint leaders with Eibar) have only had to play 15 minutes against eleven men, as Levante’s Simao was also sent off early on in their opening fixture!. (02.09.15)
