For the third game in a row Celta played over 80 minutes against ten men, this time as Las Palmas keeper Javi Varas was sent off with ten minutes gone for giving away a penalty on Iago Aspas! On week one it was Levante’s Simao, on week two it was Rayo’s Toño – Celta’s next opponents Sevilla must be trembling in their boots! Otherwise though there were only two red cards, Betis midfielder Petros getting his marching orders after picking up two bookings near the end of the first half against Real Sociedad, and Rayo’s Ebert sent to wash his mouth out with soap and water after insulting the referee’s mother late on in the Monday night match against Deportivo. If what the referee put in his report is true, Ebi certainly seems to have picked up some colourful Spanish during his brief time here! (02.09.15)

PS Ebert was given a four match ban for his insults.
