Three more red cards this weekend, Málaga’s Amrabat the first to go after catching Real Madrid’s Marcelo with a flying elbow some twenty minutes before the end of their match in the Bernabeu on Sunday. Even so though the Andalusians held on for a valuable point. Later in the evening Rayo’s Amaya got his marching orders for a second bookable offence after giving away a late free kick which gave Sevilla the victory, and on Sunday Espanyol’s Pape Diop was sent off near the end after picking up two yellow cards for crunching tackles on Deportivo players. Amrabat and Diop were given one match bans, but Amaya was given a three match suspension as the referee reported him for telling the fourth official where to stick his whistle when politely requested to leave the entrance to the players’ tunnel after he was shown the red card!
