Real Madrid’s Isco is not considered by any means to be a violent player, but he let frustration get the better of him when he kicked Barcelona’s Neymar from behind near the end of the latest “clásico”, earning the Spanish international a red card. Isco was already unhappy about being left out of the starting line-up, and when he came on as a substitute there was little he could do as his team were already three goals down. Only one other player sent off this weekend, Eibar’s Keko getting his marching orders after picking up two bookings in quick succession in Sunday’s game at Villarreal, although Las Palmas assistant coach Eder Sarabia also saw red for protesting in the Saturday match at Valencia. A season high 74 yellow cards this weekend though, with Jonny (Celta), Rubén Pérez (Granada), Illarramendi (Real Sociedad), Jaume Costa and Soldado (both Villarreal), and our last two “Villains” award winners Víctor Sánchez (Espanyol) and Gabi (Atlético), all due to be suspended next weekend after picking up their fifth of the season. (24.11.15)

PS Isco and Eder Sarabia were given two match bans.
