Celta’s Cabral will miss the last two games of the season after he was sent off for kicking Athletic’s Aduríz in the head as he lay on the ground. Unfortunately for the Argentinian defender, the referee was standing right in front of him at the time, and although the club appealed that it wasn’t really a big kick, that it was Aduríz who headed Cabral’s foot anyway, and that their player was provoked, the disciplinary committee still gave him a two match ban. Celta’s assistant coach Fernández Tascón will join him on the sidelines as well as he was given a three match suspension after picking up a red card for protesting, and Westermann (Betis) and Celso Borges (Deportivo) will also be banned after they were sent off for second bookable offences in their respective matches. Another eight players will also miss out on the penultimate round of games after they completed the five yellow card cycle, including Dani Ceballos (Betis), Alvaro (Espanyol) and Albentosa (Málaga), who were all given their tenth bookings, and Fernando Navarro (Deportivo), Oscar Duarte (Espanyol), José Mari (Levante), and Zaldúa and Bergara (both Real Sociedad), who were all shown their fifth. Nacho (Real Madrid) was let off his fifth yellow card on appeal though, and he will be available to play at the weekend . (04.05.16)
