Four red cards this weekend, Deportivo’s Laure the first to go after catching Barcelona’s Neymar with a flying elbow midway through the second half of Saturday’s match in the Nou Camp. Alavés defender Theo Hernández was also red-carded for a reckless tackle on Málaga’s Camacho on Sunday lunchtime, but numbers were evened up soon afterwards when Juanpi picked up a second booking. And later in the evening Celta’s Sergi Gómez was also sent off late on for a second bookable offence at Villarreal. Elsewhere Livaja (Las Palmas) and Amorebieta (Sporting) are the first two players to reach the five yellow card threshold, and they will both be suspended next weekend (for the record, Luis Suárez and Mercado are also on five, but one of their bookings came in the Spanish Super Cup, which doesn’t count towards a league ban).
