One red card in the cup quarter finals, Alavés defender Adrián Diégez getting sent off for a second bookable offence, but two more for technical staff, Valencia’s Sergio García banned for 2 games for his protests, and Leganés’s Juan Domínguez getting wacked for 8 games for threatening the officials in the players’ tunnel after he was sent off.

Valencia ended with nine men in their Saturday game at Las Palmas after Gabriel Paulista and Rubén Vezo were both sent off for second bookable offences, and Rodrigo Ely (Alavés) and Kuzmanovic (Málaga) also got their marching orders for second bookings, the latter only seven minutes after coming on as substitute! They will miss next weekend’s games together with six players who reached the five yellow card mark, Tomás Pina (Alavés), Vrsaljko (Atlético), Jorge Molina (Getafe), Aday and Juanpe (both Girona) and Postigo (Levante).
