A relatively incident free
weekend this time, with only a couple of moments in the two Saturday matches
worthy of note. Barcelona were upset with Pérez Burrull after he booked
Saviola twice, especially in the first incident where they thought they should
have had a penalty, and Turienzo Alvarez made himself unpopular with the
Sevilla fans when he turned down a penalty appeal for a foul by Farinós
on Reyes. Lots of red cards of course, and a brave decision by Rodríguez
Santiago when he sent off Valencia's Marchena with only thirty seconds on the
clock. He almost got it wrong though, awarding a penalty before his linesman
pointed out that the foul was just outside the area. The anecdote of the
weekend was at San Sebastian, where Moreno Delgado sent off.....a ball boy.
With his side ahead against Real Madrid the lad was wasting time putting the
ball back into play. They learn young these days! (16.04.03) |
