Referees had an unlikely
champion this week, Espanyol's manager Javier Clemente. Lemmens and Lopo had
been very critical of Turienzo Alvarez after he awarded a controversial last
minute penalty against their side which cost them the match. However Clemente
tore a strip off his two players for their remarks, saying that anyone who
criticised the officials in his team would be severely punished. Quite a
turn-around for the boy from Barakaldo, who is never known to mince his words
when it comes to calling a spade a bloody shovel. (16.09.03) |
