The most controversial
decisions this weekend were about disallowed goals. Whilst a second division
referee awarded a goal to Eibar's Llorente last week when the ball didn't even
enter the net, Mejuto González ruled out three goals in the match
between Getafe and Betis. The home side were the harder done by, especially in
the first incident where Riki's strike was ruled out for a non existent
offside. Oliveira had one disallowed at the other end for another borderline
offside decision, and Getafe had another goal cancelled in the dying minutes
when Pachón followed up after the ball hit the bar, Mejuto ruling that
Gallardo was lying in an offside position when the striker drove the ball into
the net. (25.10.04) |
