It seems the matches between
Betis and Barcelona are destined to be surrounded in controversy. Last season
it was Pino Zamorano who awarded a controversial penalty to the Blaugrana in
the Nou Camp, allowing them to come back from two goals down, and this time it
was Pérez Lasa who upset the Andalusians. Pérez gave an early
penalty to Barça (which Eto'o missed), but more importantly sent off
Oliveira in the twentieth minute for "applauding" him a la Rooney. Needless to
say he needed a police escort to get off the pitch at the end of the match.
