White Stick Awards

So who's great idea was it to organize a "day of the referee"?. Our men in black were quite happy knowing that they were not the most popular people in Spain, and although they had to exercise authority from time to time to show who's the boss, they were careful not to overstep the mark. But now somebody comes along and says "we love you after all, whatever your faults", and it was no holds barred. The result? A record twelve red cards as well as 68 yellows, leaving 30 players out of the reckoning for the second "day of the referee", which will take place next weekend at the grounds of the sides who played away last time around. Come on guys, think these things through before you unleash the monster on an unsuspecting world! (14.03.06)
