After last week's record
haul of red and yellow cards, the second "day of the referee" passed off
without any real incidents. Maybe somebody had pointed out that they had gone
over the top, but there were only three sendings off compared to the twelve
last weekend. Only Pérez Lima received any criticism, Getafe coach Bernd
Schuster not happy that he let Deportivo's Duscher off a second yellow card and
then sent off Gavilán for a less serious offence, and also turned down
two fairly obvious penalty appeals by the Madrid based side. Pérez ended
the match with a tally of 15 yellow cards (including Schuster himself) and one
red. (21.03.06) |
