With little to complain
about from the top flight referees this weekend, it was down to the second
division to find this week's news scandal. It all happened in the match between
Almería and Cádiz, where referee Iglesias Villanueva accepted his
linesman's advice to award a penalty to the visitors. The local players were
less than happy, and it didn't need television replays to see why - the foul
had taken place some six metres outside of the area! Is this a world record,
cried the sporting press? (19.09.06) |
