Valencia coach Quique Flores
upset the referees' governing body this week with his criticisms of Mejuto
González after the match at Athletic Bilbao. Flores said that his side
should have had a couple of penalties at least, and that this was not the first
time that this particular referee had made bad decisions against his teams (he
even suggested that he had a personal vendetta against him from the time he was
in Getafe, and insinuated that there was a "black hand" helping Athletic stay
in the first division). The CTA were so enraged that they published a
communiqué in the federation website complaining about Flores's
declarations, asking the disciplinary committee to take actions against him and
even stating that "approaching the final part of the season, people who did not
achieve their targets tend to use referees as an excuse."! The battle goes
