A discrete performance by
referees this weekend after all the recent ballyhoo. Delgado Ferreiro was
criticised for not giving a penalty to Valencia's David Villa against Recre,
and on the other hand for allowing Joaquín's first goal to stand when
Villa was in an offside position in the build up. And Levante thought that Clos
Gómez should have ruled out Eto'o's goal as Ronaldinho was lying in an
offside position in the goalmouth, whereas Barça thought that the
referee's mistake was not sending off Alexis for a horrendous tackle on Messi
near the end of the match. Nothing outrageous though, and long may that last.
