All eyes on referees on the
penultimate day of the season, one wrong decision capable of influencing the
outcome of what this year is a very close fought league, both at the top and
the bottom of the table. Rodríguez Santiago was at fault for not
spotting Leo Messi's "hand of god" goal which could have handed Barça
the title (every day the kid is looking more like Maradona!), although Tamudo's
late equaliser limited the effect. And Sevilla were not happy with Iturralde
González after he turned down two penalty appeals, although Dragutinovic
could have taken the long work well before he did after the referee failed to
spot an incident with Ibagaza. Elsewhere Clos Gómez went a bit over the
top with the red cards, producing four in the derby game between Levante and
Valencia, although both sides had little at stake there. (12.06.07)
