Osasuna fans held a protest
before their match with Zaragoza against the recent refereeing decisions which
have gone against them, with a wave of white handkies before the kick off.
Fernández Borbolán ordered the club to take down several banners,
but every time they did so, others sprang up like the heads of the Hydra!
Murcia also lodged a formal
complaint against Velasco Carballo after he allowed Guille Franco's last minute
goal to stand despite a clear offside position. The referee had also turned
down a penalty appeal for a foul on Goitom a few minutes earlier.
But the performance of note
this weekend was from our old friend Daudén Ibáñez (or
more to the point his linesman) in Valencia's 3-1 win over Betis. In fact none
of the first three goals should have been allowed, Villa's first and Edu's
reply both being scored from offside positions, and Silva's goal coming after
Villa controlled the ball with his hand in the build up. (12.02.08)
