A quiet round of games
midweek, with Rodríguez Santiago not even producing one yellow card in
the match between Real Madrid and Sporting Gijón. Too busy writing down
the names of the goalscorers perhaps? The biggest mistake was probably by
González Vázquez, who disallowed what would have been
Almería's equaliser at Valladolid for a clearly non-existent offside.
Elsewhere Daudén Ibáñez turned down a couple of penalty
appeals at either end in the game between Barcelona and Betis, in particular
one for a foul in the second half by Cáceres on Sergio García.
However nobody matched the English referee who awarded a goal to Reading
against Watford when the ball didn't even go near the line. Maybe we should
bring him to Spain to liven things up a bit? (26.09.08) |
