White Stick Awards

Fernández Borbolán gave Real Madrid a helping hand on Saturday when he allowed Huntelar's equaliser to stand in the city derby. The Atlético Madrid players didn't criticise him too much though, as they accepted that the main reason they didn't win was the multitude of misses bt their strikers, particularly after the break.

On Sunday the much criticised Alvarez Izquierdo went a bit of the top with fourteen yellow cards and two reds, although it had to be said that the match he officiated between Getafe and Málaga was bad-tempered from start to finish, with more handbags flapping around than in a Boots ("here come the girls...") television advert!
