Appeals from Athletic Bilbao this weekend for Muñiz Fernández to put in the proverbial "fridge" for a few weeks after his performance in the bad-tempered game between Athletic and Real Madrid. The referee failed to spot Huntelaar lashing out at Amorebieta in only the third minute, and turned down a penalty appeal after Toquero was brought down by Heinze a few minutes later. He also pardoned Aitor Ocio for a possible red card on Sneijder, and waved away claims for another penalty after the break when the ball hit Pepe on the arm. The red card for Yeste was clear though, even though the local fans accused Casillas of a bit of provocation and play acting, and the late penalty for Madrid after Marcelo was brought down was correct, albeit a bit of an anecdote with the game already won.
