González Vázquez got some stick this week after his performance in the match between Villarreal and Recreativo. Visiting coach Lucas Alcaraz was very critical after González awarded a goal to Cani at the behest of his linesman, even though it appeared that Lamas had hooked the ball away before it fully crossed the line. Television pictures showed that the linesman was unsighted and should not therefore have made the decision. Later in the game the referee disallowed what appeared to be a perfectly good goal by Nihat, evening things up in the end!
