Osasuna have had a lot of
complaints about referees in the last couple of seasons, and they are on the
warpath again after Velasco Carballo sent off Monreal and Nekounam in the
second half of the game at Tenerife. Monreal in particular was shown two yellow
cards in a minute, the first after the ball hit him on the arm at point blank
range, although the club's appeals to the disciplinary committee fell on deaf
ears. Expect strong protests in Pamplona this weekend!
Elsewhere Megia
Dávila announced he will not be continuing this season after he was made
an offer he couldn't refuse to join Real Madrid as their refereeing consultant.
We wish him all the best. As the federation are currently in the process of
reducing the number of top flight referees to 20, Megía won't be
replaced. (18.09.09) |
