Spain's World Cup referee this year will be Undiano Mallenco, and he was in charge of the match between Zaragoza and Real Madrid. One of the more lenient referees in La Liga, Undiano allowed some hard tackles by the local players to go unpunished, in particular letting off Contini and Eliseu, who both should probably have been shown red cards for hard tackles on Ronaldo and Marcelo. Contini was sent off in the second half for an elbow on Higuaín, although that was as much for Higuaín's over-reaction as for the foul itself. (27.04.10)
