Borbolán was in the eye of the hurricane as things blew up in the match
between Levante and Racing Santander. Most of the media covered the incident
when Domingo Cisma was sent off for attacking an opponent after Caicedo scored
with a player lying injured on the ground, but there is no reason for a side to
kick the ball out of play if the referee doesn't stop the game, and Cisma was
in the wrong. Some of the protest though was aimed at his linesman, who lifted
his flag and then dropped it both times that Caicedo scored, causing the
defenders to hesitate and let the striker through. Looking at it coldly though,
Racing were probably favoured by the referee after he failed to spot Henrique
handle in the area early on. Best not to say that though to Cisma right now,
eh? Elsewhere Ayza Gámez made himself unpopular at San Sebastian after
turning down Real Sociedad's penalty appeal for hands by Atlético
Madrid's Tiago with twenty minutes to go. With protests still going on
Atlético ran up the other end and equalised, and to make matters worse
Agüero scored another for the visitors a few minutes later from an offside
position. (24.11.10) |
