For once Mourinho had
nothing to say about the referee, this time Fernández Borbolán
helping his side by allowing Ronaldo's third goal to stand even though he came
back from an offside position. The decision provoked a red card for Villarreal
coach Juan Carlos Garrido for his protests. Madrid scored again though after
that to win 4-2, so the ruling was probably not that decisive in the result?
Clos Gómez though definitively helped Valencia to a 0-1 victory over
city neighbours Levante, the referee allowing Mata's late goal to stand even
though he was offside when he picked up the ball. Clos also awarded Valencia a
controversial penalty earlier on for a foul which appeared to be outside of the
area, although Mata fired his kick over the bar. (12.01.11) |
