Barcelona dropped two points this weekend in their visit to Sevilla, but things could have been different had Pérez Lasa not incorrectly ruled out an early goal by Messi for what he considered to be a foul by Busquets as Messi took his free kick. Pérez was not a man for giving penalties either, turning down strong appeals by Zokora and Bojan. Quite the opposite to Fernández Borbolán, who invented a last minute spot kick in favour of Sporting Gijón after Barral went down theatrically under a challenge from Villarreal's Gonzalo. Diego Castro's soft penalty saved a point for the Asturians, who up until then were not happy that the referee had left them rather harshly with nine men. (17.03.11)
