Alvarez Izquierdo stepped in as referee for the local derby between Rayo Vallecano and Getafe after Delgado Ferreiro injured himself during the periodical referees' physical training examination. Getafe must be ruing the fact though after Alvarez allowed goals by Michu and Diego Costa to stand, even though both were clearly offside. Rayo won it 2-0 thanks to that, and to top it all Getafe's Michel was shown a rigorous red card for a hard tackle on Diego Costa which probably should have been a yellow. (15.02.12)
