Real Madrid were not happy with Gil Manzano on Saturday evening after the rookie referee pulled up Benzema for a dubious offside early on in the second half in their match at Betis, and then turned down an appeal for a last minute penalty after Nosa blocked a centre in to the area with his arm at close range. Some experts said it was and some said it wasn't, but the fact is that Madrid lost the match 1-0, leaving them eleven points behind Barcelona in the table.
