The Teixeira Vitienes brothers have wrapped things up this season, elder brother Fernando extending his lead over sibling José Antonio after producing seven yellow cards in the game between Levante and Betis. Cup final referee Clos Gómez gave José Antonio a close call for second place though after showing ten yellows and red in Sevilla's 4-3 win over Valencia. The Ches in particular were unhappy with Clos after he turned down a good penalty appeal by Soldado with the visitors one up, and then awarded a penalty at the other end and rather harshly sent off Jonas after he clashed with Moreno shortly before the break. That may have cost Valverde's team fourth spot and a lucrative place in next season's Champions League, which is not, as we say over here, turkey snot! (06.06.13)
