Leaders Real Madrid made it 14 straight wins when they beat Eibar 0-4 on Saturday evening. A convincing victory, although two of their goals probably shouldn’t have counted, Fernández Borbolán and his linesmen failing to spot that both Benzema and Ronaldo were offside in the build up to the first goal, and that the ball had gone out of play before James hooked it back for the third. Still, the other two goals were OK, including the penalty for hands by Albentosa, and Benzema should probably have had another penalty as well. Elsewhere Fernando Teixeira Vitienes cut short Málaga’s comeback at Atlético Madrid by sending off Samuel for a second bookable offence. The disciplinary committee later overturned the first yellow card, but obviously that didn’t change the result. (29.11.14)
