It’s not unusual over the years to hear the chant “…así gana Madrid!” in the San Mamés stadium (a chant which originated in the days of Franco when referees were less impartial than they are now!), but it is unusual when their opponents are not Real Madrid, but Atlético! The “Leones” though were upset at referee Hernández Hernández after he awarded a controversial penalty to the visitors when Tiago fell rather too easily under a challenge by San José. The game was in the balance at that point, but Raúl García converted the spot kick, and Hernández got the crowd going again when he allowed Griezmann’s hat-trick goal to stand, even though he was in an offside position at the time. Maybe it was the fact that Atlético were playing in their all-white change strip which confused everybody??? (24.12.14)
