Rookie referee Jaime Latre is pushing his way to the top of our chart, and he made a couple of debatable decisions in the Saturday afternoon game between Granada and Barcelona. Was it a penalty by Bartra on Fran Rico which led to the locals getting back in the game? And was Messi offside when Luis Suárez gifted him the third goal, as keeper Oier was slightly behind him and there was only one defender in front? The match ended 1-3, so it probably didn’t change the result anyway. On Sunday González González was in charge of the game between Real Madrid and Villarreal, and in his case it was all about penalties. Ronaldo was given one, but Bale, Moi Gómez, Chicharito and Joel Campbell all had claims turned down. In the end a 1-1 draw though, so any one of those given the other way would have influenced the scoreline. (05.03.15)
