Not that they needed it, but the big two were given a bit of a helping hand by referees this weekend. Mateu Lahoz allowed Barcelona’s second goal at Espanyol to stand, even though Luis Suárez seemed to be offside when he set up Messi (although to be “fair” to the ref, he did also send off Jordi Alba rather harshly early on in the second half). And Pérez Montero waved away a couple of penalty appeals by Celta early on in the second half of the game against Real Madrid, in particular for a foul by by Kroos on Orellana when the score was 2-3 to Ancelotti’s side. They went on to win 2-4 though, so maybe it wouldn’t have affected the result? (28.04.15)
