Atlético Madrid may have been favoured by the referee midweek when a Fernando Torres goal was allowed to stand, but on Saturday they were on the wrong end of the decisions after Jaime Latre ruled out two goals by Griezmann and Tiago against Athletic Bilbao for non-existent offsides. It makes you think the ref must have had a no score draw on his “quiniela” coupon! Elsewhere Málaga felt hard done by when Undiano Mallenco ruled out a fluke goal by Samuel for what he considered to be a foul on Elche keeper Tyton. Easy to say afterwards, but on the TV replay it seemed that Amrabat never touched him. Málaga lost 1-2, which puts in doubt their return to European competitions, although in all hoesty they can’t blame the referee for missing a penalty later on after Tyton was sent off for a foul on Javi Guerra.
