Quite a few controversial decisions this weekend, the first coming on Friday when Pérez Montero allowed Agirretxe’s equalizer against Getafe to stand, even though Diego Reyes was clearly interfering with play from an offside position. On Saturday Sánchez Martínez and Fernández Borbalán ruled out strikes by Barcelona’s Luis Suárez and Celta’s Bongonda for non-existent offsides against Deportivo and Espanyol, and on Sunday González González incorrectly sent off Valencia’s Lucas Orbán at Eibar (see “Villains” section for more), and Undiano Mallenco turned a blind eye to a clear penalty by Villarreal’s Musacchio on Real Madrid’s Ronaldo. All of those rulings could have affected the outcomes of the respective games, most of which were decided by the odd goal or so, but then that’s football! (16.12.15)
