Málaga felt that they should have had more than a draw against regional rivals Granada on Friday night after referee Alvarez Izquierdo ruled out two late strikes for questionable offside decisions. The first of those was following a strike by Sandro, possibly inches offside but difficult to tell, and the second came in injury time, Alvarez disallowing a Llorente header after he decided that Villanueva was interfering with play from an offside position. Contrast that with the performance of Martínez Munuera, who allowed Luis Suárez’s opener to stand against Osasuna even though he was possibly just in front of the last defender. Barça didn’t really need it though as they went on to win 0-3, but things may have been different if Suárez hadn’t broken the ice. (14.12.16)
