Barcelona thought they were in for another rough time when Gil Manzano incorrectly ruled out a Luis Suárez strike for offside in the second leg cup tie against Athletic Bilbao, but in the end they won through, thanks in part at least to a hotly disputed penalty when Neymar ran in to Bóveda after he slipped in the area. No complaints there then in the end! Villarreal were not too happy though with Fernández Borbolán after he disallowed a Samu Castillejo goal, also for a non-existent offside against Real Sociedad, and the Yellow Submarine bow out of the competition after losing 4-2 on aggregate.
