Getafe coach Pepe Bordalás was sent to the stands by Prieto Iglesias for protesting in Sunday’s game at Real Sociedad, but he felt his arguments were justified after the referee awarded a penalty against his side, and then turned down a couple of appeals at the other end, in particular when Rulli brought down Mata in the area late on. Getafe are fighting for a first ever Champions League spot, and after the match Bordalás suggested that there was even a conspiracy against his team, who were “not meant to be where they are right now”! Needless to say, Getafe’s appeal against his red card stating that his protests were understandable “following the innumerable injustices against the club throughout the season” fell on deaf ears, and Don Pepe was given a two match ban!
