Zamoras
With Cavallero on international duty with Argentina, his fellow countryman Bonano moved clear at the top of the table with his fourth clean sheet in a row. Barcelona have not won the Zamora trophy since Zubizarreta's victory in the 1986/7 season. Clean sheets too for Kike, Lafuente, Prats, Argensó, Unzué and Notario, and first appearances in the league for Pinto, who replaced Cavallero, and Lopetgui, who took over from Imanol Etxeberria at Rayo Vallecano. Lopetegui was one of three players accused by outgoing manager Goikoetxea of stirring things up at the club against him, and the two almost came to blows after Goiko resisted efforts by club president Teresa Rivero to persuade him to draft the keeper in to the side. New manager Gregorio Manzano brought him in though together with Hernández and Luis Cembranos for his first match in charge, but he let in a goal in 10 seconds from Osasuna's Armentano. Maybe Goiko was right? (05.10.01)
