Zamoras
With Bonano letting in two at Deportivo and Cavallero still away on international duty, Kike took advantage to sneak up into first place. It was a bit of a cheat though, as he only played the first 45 minutes before having to leave the field injured, and Herrera came on in his place and let in a penalty goal in the second half. A few more goals this weekend, 25 in all, with five keepers keeping their sheets unsullied in addition to the aforementioned Kike. Casillas kept his place in the Real Madrid side despite letting in four from Las Palmas midweek, and redeemed himself against Athletic Bilbao. Last year's Zamora Cañizares moved into the reckoning again, and after their third 1-0 home game of the season it looks like Valencia are still happy to play defensively despite the promises of the new manager. Cañizares is joined in equal second place by Prats, who's fourth clean sheet in a row helped Betis back up to the top of the league. The other two spotless 'porteros' were Zaragoza's Láinez and Valladolid's Ricardo. (08.10.01)
