With Herrera putting in a
shaky performance and Prats letting in three against on-form Valencia, Nacho
González moves to the top of our table this week. The Argentine keeper
recorded his seventh clean sheet of the season, and with the ability to score
from the penalty spot as well, is a valuable asset for his side. Barcelona's
Bonano paid the price of the derby defeat at Espanyol in the last match, losing
his place to Spanish under-21 international Reina. The youngster was another
who kept his goals-against column to zero, as did Málaga's Rafa, a late
replacement for Contreras who was indisposed shortly before kick off. Both
started for the first time in the league this season. Real Sociedad's
Westerveld has yet to let in a goal in 180 minutes of Spanish football,
although he had more work to do this week at Las Palmas than in his first match
against Valladolid. He replaces Sweden's Asper, who moved on loan to Besiktas
this week. Good performances too from Sevilla's Notario and Osasuna's
Unzué, with their respective sides both recording important 0-2
victories away from home. (07.01.02) |
