Nacho
González consolidated his position at the top of the Zamora table as he
helped Las Palmas to their sixth game without defeat, even scoring his second
goal of the season from the penalty spot to make sure of victory. He leads the
chart by himself after Herrera lost his place at Alavés to Kike
following a shaky performance last week. Kike looks as if he is back to stay
with a clean sheet against Tenerife, one of only five this week. Spain's first
choice keepers both put in splendid displays in front of José Antonio
Camacho in the table topping match between Real Madrid and Valencia, with
Casillas coming out on top over Cañizares as his team won 1-0. Camacho's
third choice keeper Ricardo also kept his goals-against tally to zero against
Deportivo, and Láinez and Mora were the best players on the park as
Zaragoza and Espanyol drew 0-0. Elsewhere Reina kept his place at Barcelona to
the detriment of Bonano, and Real Sociedad's Westerveld let in his first goals
since joining the club. (14.01.02) |
