The battle between Prats and
Cañizares for the Zamora trophy is hotting up, with the Betis man
getting the advantage on Sunday after Cañi let in two for only the fifth
time this season, surprisingly against bottom side Rayo Vallecano. Prats is one
of only four ever-present players this season together with keepers Ricardo
(Valladolid) and López Vallejo (Villarreal), and Osasuna defender
Cruchaga. Most of the first choice goalies returned this weekend after no less
than seven changes last week due to injury, illness, suspension and managerial
decisions. Las Palmas though were still without their two first team keepers,
and youngster Orlando Quintana made his first start for the club after
replacing the injured Cicovic during last week's game. On the international
front, it remains to be seen who Camacho chooses to accompany Cañizares
for the upcoming friendly with Holland. With Casillas being dropped by Real
Madrid in favour of César and Ricardo having let in more than anyone
else in the first division, the on-form Molina could get a recall. He saved
another penalty in the Champions League game at Arsenal on Tuesday night, his
second in three games. (18.03.02) |
