The logical thing happened
this week, and Bilbao's Lafuente lost his place after letting eleven goals in
two games. His replacement, under-21 international Aranzubia, did a little
better, but still let in two as his side lost their third game in a row. The
race for the Zamora's jersey is hotting up, with both candidates keeping clean
sheets, Prats for the third game in a row and Cañizares for the second.
They are being upstaged though by Contreras, who has now gone four games
without letting one in, and there is much speculation as to whether Camacho
will give him a run out in the last friendly before the World Cup starts.
Molina is another who has been mentioned, although he had little chance to
prove himself this week against a Mallorca side who didn't have a shot at goal.
Elsewhere the two Barcelona based keepers Barça's Bonano and Espanyol's
Argensó kept their goals against column to zero, as did Osasuna's
Unzué. (08.04.02) |
