A higher scoring week in the
league, with only four clean sheets between the 20 number ones, all strangely
in 1-0 home victories for their respective teams. Cavallero was one of those,
helping Celta to beat the team he used to play for, Espanyol, and taking him
level with Cañizares at the top of the table. Sevilla's Notario moves up
to third place after his side beat Racing Santander, and Contreras returned to
what he must hope is normal after letting in seven goals in the last two league
matches.
Bonano also joins the clean
sheeters this week after Barcelona's 1-0 win over Villarreal, with Enke
returning to the substitutes' bench in place of a very unhappy Víctor
Valdés. The young keeper lost his cool when Van Gaal told him he was to
return to the B team to get more match practise, and he failed to turn up for
training the following day. After a day of tense phone calls and meetings
Víctor apologized to his manager, but he will be given a hefty fine for
a serious breach of house rules. (12.11.02). |
