Zamoras

Another good week for (most) goalkeepers, with only 24 goals scored in the ten league games. Rafa Benítez made it clear that his first choice keeper is Cañizares, and he returned from suspension to keep one of seven clean sheets this week as Valencia beat Mallorca by a single goal. He will have his work cut out though to beat Notario, who recorded his eighth clean sheet of the season in his side's surprise win at Celta. Málaga's Contreras has not let a goal in now for four games after his side's easy victory over Recreativo, and Juanmi and Reina both improve their position in the table keeping their goals against column to zero. Mono Burgos is now clearly established as Atlético's first choice 'portero', and he made a couple of key saves against Barcelona, and Bilbao's Aranzubia is probably a happy man after keeping out Kovacevic and company as his side won their local derby against leaders Real Sociedad. In fact this was only the second time that Athletic have not let a goal in during the last twelve months, and what better match to do it in? (04.02.03)
