Sevilla keeper Notario kept
up his good form this season, and moves to the top of the Zamora's chart with
his third clean sheet in a row and his eleventh of the season in all. One of
Iñaki Sáez's henchmen was spotted in the stands for the game
against Osasuna, and he could be a surprise inclusion in the Spanish squad for
the double header against Ukraine and Armenia at the end of this month.
Not a bad weekend for
goalkeepers this time, with only 24 goals scored in the ten games. As well as
Notario, five keepers kept clean sheets, including those from the three bottom
sides, Luque (Recreativo) and Toni (Espanyol) in their goal-less draw, and
Sergio Segura (Rayo) in their win over Celta.
Contreras returned to our
charts after Málaga beat Athletic 3-0, and Esteban took another step in
the absence of Mono Burgos to establish himself as Atlético's number one
in their 0-1 win at Valencia. Burgos is now out of hospital after having a
tumour removed from one of his kidneys, and must be on the road to recovery as
he is already telling jokes to the press. He can at least take heart from
Deportivo's Molina, who has apparently beaten his last bout of cancer and is
expected to be in the squad for the Champions League game at Juventus midweek.
