Another good weekend for
goalkeepers (but not for fans), with only 15 goals against in the ten games.
Half the teams in the league didn't let any in at all, but curiously the list
only included two of our current top nine, Cavallero and Reina. Both men were
playing against their old clubs, the Celta keeper returning to Espanyol, where
he and Toni both did a good job in a scoreless draw, and the Villarreal number
one facing off against Barcelona, who must be ruing that they let him go after
he put in another great performance against them. A 0-0 result too between
Dutruel's Alavés and Leo Franco's Mallorca, the Frenchman returning to
the Vitoria based side for the first time since he was dropped three weeks ago.
Four games ended with single goal victories, with Recreativo's Luque,
Athletic's Aranzubia, Racing's Lemmens and Málaga's Contreras all on the
winning team, as was Prats, whose Betis beat Valencia 2-0. (08.04.03)
