Zamoras

Another low scoring weekend, and it would be shorter to list the nine goalkeepers who let in goals rather than the eleven who kept clean sheets. Well it was ten really, as our leader Cavallero didn't let one in but then he didn't finish the match either, getting himself sent off early in the second half after a rather nasty "hospital pass" by Jesuli left him little option but to bring down Racing's Bodipo. Young B team keeper José Juan came on to make his first team debut, but let in the penalty and another goal in no less than the ninth minute of injury time, when most decent men are already soaped up in the bath tub.

So without further ado, on to the ten keepers who did keep a clean sheet in the more than ninety but less than ninety-nine minutes that they all played, starting with the four scoreless draws. Three came on Saturday, Recreativo versus Real Madrid (Luque / Casillas), then Athletic versus Valladolid (Aranzubia / Bizzarri) and finally Espanyol versus Osasuna (Toni / Sanzol). They were joined on Sunday by Sevilla versus Barcelona (Notario / Víctor Valdés). Saturday was a bit of a disaster all round for goalscorers in fact, with Juanmi (Deportivo) and Dutruel (Alavés) also keeping their goals against column to zero. (13.05.03)
